Product Selection
Add Products: The pet shop POS system will have an inventory of products such as pet
food, accessories, toys, grooming products, and medications. The cashier or staff member selects
products from the list based on the customer's order.
Search & Filter: The staff can search products by categories, name, or SKU for faster
selection.
Add Services: In addition to physical products, pet shops may offer services like
grooming, pet training, etc. These can be added to the bill as well.
Customer Information
Customer Profile: If the customer is registered (loyalty program, frequent visitor),
their details (name, contact, past purchases) may be pulled up automatically.
New Customer: If the customer is new, the POS system may allow the staff to create a
new customer profile.
Cart Review
Itemized Bill: The system generates a clear itemized list of the products and
services being purchased, including their quantity, price, and total.
Discounts & Offers: Any discounts, offers, or promotions (e.g., buy one, get one
free, or seasonal discounts) can be applied at this stage.
Tax Calculation: Sales tax is automatically calculated based on the local tax rates
and applied to the total bill.
Payment
Multiple Payment Methods: The POS system would allow the staff to choose the payment
method, such as cash, credit card, debit card, mobile wallet, or even gift cards.
Payment Confirmation: Once payment is made, the system will show the final amount,
including the tax and any applied discounts.
Receipt Generation
Invoice: Invoice: The POS software generates a detailed invoice/receipt for the
customer. It includes the date, transaction ID, purchased items, total price, and payment method.
Loyalty Points: If the pet shop has a loyalty program, points may be awarded to the
customer based on their purchase, which can be used for future purchases.
